Crystal Nolen has been a professional web designer and web developer for more than ten years. She started writing HTML while in college at Christopher Newport University more than twelve years ago and quickly became known for developing and updating websites for departments at the college. She started using Photoshop to design graphics during this time as well. Crystal has more than eight years of experience with CSS and taught classes in HTML, CSS and Internet Design while working for the Virginia Electronic Technology Center.
Crystal has experience managing and maintaining over 100 websites at one time and has personally migrated nearly hundreds of websites from one system to another. She has been managing hosting servers for more than seven years. Crystal's DNS hosting experience also includes domain name brokage experience.
Website usability and branding consistency are two of Crystal's passions and she believes they are the cornerstone of a functioning website. She has more than two years of experience with website accessibility as well, which started when she was a DoD Contractor working on the commissaries.com website.
Crystal also has more than nine years of experience in Internet Marketing. She started in Internet Marketing while working for Advanced Networks, Inc. where she learned how to do keyword research for search engine optimization and how to write title tags and meta tags. These are skills she still uses today, but Crystal also knows that Internet Marketing as changed a lot and she has become an expert in the more contemporary SEO skills, such as setting up blogs, linking building, content writing, etc.
Crystal has been doing pay-per-click search engine marketing since 2003 and has worked as the PPC Manager for an Internet Marketing company in Richmond, VA. During her time at that company, she became a Google Adwords Professional and a Yahoo Search Marketing Ambassador.
Email marketing is one of Crystal's favorite internet marketing techniques because it is cost effective and allows her to write and design something totally new each time she sends out a new email. Email marketing allows Crystal's client to reach their prospects on a regular basis, which consistent leads to new sales.
Crystal is also a member of the HTML Writers Guild and she loves the opportunity to take classes and learn something new. Open source software is another of Crystal's passions because it gives her the ability to give her clients a website with the advanced technology of a custom-programmed website at a fraction of the cost.
